Deschacht supplied Stadsbader with the heavy-duty Recyfix Pro drainage channel with FIBRETEC PA grating for the construction of sports fields in Lievegem.
In Lievegem, the first phase of a master plan to expand sports infrastructure has been completed. In this phase, specific sports infrastructure was constructed, such as additional soccer fields, padel courts, a Finnish running track of approx. 800 m, a beach volleyball court, a mountain bike hill, and a temporary skate park. Deschacht supplied the heavy-duty drainage channel from Hauraton for these sports fields. The site is designed as a park, featuring a dog-run area, a green play area for children with natural play elements, and a zone with exercise equipment with special attention to accessibility for less-mobile athletes. Finally, attention was paid to the green character of the site and to water management, for which a wadi and water buffer, among other things, were provided. . Stadsbader, which, in addition to major infrastructure works and industrial construction, also has a division specialized in the construction of sports fields, asked for our advice. Deschacht proposed to work with the
Drainage channel with a Fibretec plastic grate. This Hauraton drainage channel is strong enough to withstand the passage of utility vehicles or lawn mowers. The plastic grate has an attractive design and is rust-resistant, ensuring it will still look great even after a few years. Furthermore, this drainage channel is made from recycled polypropylene that is itself fully recyclable. In this way, we are also contributing to a circular economy.
