At the Edelweiss residential care center in Doische, recurring water infiltration made it necessary to renovate nearly 600 m² of flat roof. Because the existing substrate was uneven and the risk of new leaks remained high, BSP Construction opted for a waterproofing solution that simplifies installation while ensuring long-lasting protection: Starix EPDM Fleeceback from Deschacht.
Fewer accessories, less installation time, better performance
Thanks to the integrated fleece on the underside of the membrane, Starix EPDM Fleeceback compensates for irregularities in the substrate. In addition, it offers greater tear resistance than a traditional EPDM membrane. This is a particularly valuable advantage in renovation projects, where existing substrates often exhibit irregularities.
The membrane also contributes to the roof’s durability. It promotes the release of gases that may be emitted by certain insulation materials, thereby helping to reduce the risk of blistering under the membrane. Another key advantage is the integrated joint strip. The seams can be finished directly, without the need for separate joint strips. This saves installation teams time on the job site, reduces material consumption, and simplifies the installation process.
