Nieuwpoort has gained a 2,000 m² industrial hangar. The building is divided into various storage units that are rented out to businesses. Contractor Metaalbouw Deboodt entrusted the finishing of the flat roof to Dakwerken Bouckaert. On top of the insulation layer, they installed the RubberShell roof waterproofing membrane from SealEco. The roof is 40 meters wide and 50 meters long. With the 2.5 mm thick and 1.7-meter-wide RubberShell rolls, large strips can be laid, allowing a large roof to be sealed very quickly. RubberShell is an elastic membrane that combines the advantages of EPDM with the ease of installation of bitumen: simple placement, an indestructible roof waterproofing, and rapid sealing of roof edges, corners, drains, and other special shapes. The membrane contains a glass fleece net reinforcement. The seams are welded with hot air. Thanks to the visible weld bead, you can immediately tell whether you have welded them properly.
