For the renovation of the quay wall and sewerage system at SEA-Tank Terminal in the Port of Ghent, Deschacht supplied no fewer than 23 custom-made inspection chambers, PE pipes, and drainage channels.
SEA-Tank Terminal
SEA-Tank Terminal operates tank terminals in Belgium and France. The terminals feature advanced storage and handling infrastructure for mineral and vegetable oil products, liquid fertilizers, molasses, fish oil, biofuels, oleochemicals, and chemical products. The tanks are equipped with specific product lines and pumps to prevent contamination. At SEA-Tank in the port of Ghent, the quay walls and sewerage system were in need of renovation. Raemdonck, a specialist in earthmoving and demolition work, among other things, carried out the work.
The project
For the renewal of the sewerage system, 2 km of PE pipe was delivered and installed, interrupted by 23 HDPE inspection chambers with a diameter of 1000 mm, manufactured by our sister company Collinet. For the drainage of the quay, the Hauraton Faserfix KS drainage channel was chosen along the entire length. This fiber-reinforced concrete drainage channel is resistant to heavy loads, which is necessary given the nature of the activities on this site.
