FASERFIX: a product family that meets all requirements
The requirements for the load-bearing capacity of drainage channels in road and industrial construction are significant. Faserfix are U-shaped prefabricated drainage channels made of glass fiber reinforced concrete. This composition enables extremely stable products while maintaining thin channel walls and a reduced weight. The thickness of the concrete walls is 4.5 cm to ensure high lateral stability. The upper edge of the side wall is reinforced with hot-dip galvanized steel profiles, allowing them to be used up to load class F 900.
Drainage of surface water
For the drainage of surface water, the municipality of Riemst chose Faserfix. The company BESIX Infra carried out the works. It was a first introduction to the product for site manager Arne Houben. “The municipality specified Faserfix to have uniform channels everywhere. The installation went surprisingly well, partly due to the dimensions of the channels. We can install meter by meter, which allows you to work more precisely. For these three streets, we installed a total of 6 meters of Faserfix Super 400 (incl. cast iron grating KL F-900) and 26 meters of Faserfix Super 500 (incl. cast iron grating KL D-400). An additional asset is the mesh size of the gratings. Accessibility for cyclists and strollers was also very important to the municipality, given that this drainage system was installed in a school environment. A great product to work with!”
