Radiology department safely disposes of wastewater thanks to custom double-walled PE equipment

As part of the construction project for the new AZ Delta site on Sint-Martinusstraat in Roeselare, a system had to be installed for the collection of nuclear wastewater from the toilets of the radiology department.

Radiology department safely disposes of wastewater thanks to custom double-walled PE equipment

In the process, the wastewater is first pumped into one of the double-walled HDPE tanks until they are full. The water remains there until the radioactivity has decreased sufficiently. While awaiting this, the second tank is used. To prevent any risk of leaks, the entire system—consisting of storage tanks, a pump station, and pipes—was designed with double walls and secured with leak detection systems. As a leading manufacturer of double-walled storage tanks, Collinet was the ideal partner for the supply of this equipment.
