Permapan roof panel for renovation

Roof structure not strong enough? Permapan to the rescue!

Construction company SD-Construct from Maarkedal was asked to renovate a roof made of asbestos slates. Problem: the roof structure was not sturdy enough for roof tiles and the owner did not want the entire roof of his house removed. The solution: the insulating Permapan roof tile sheet for pitched roofs by roof and wall system manufacturer Joris Ide, custom-ordered and delivered by Deschacht.

Insulating panel with the look of roof tiles

Managing Director Saskia Dewit: “The owner of the house in Nukerke wanted a new roof with roof tiles. Because the roof structure was designed for the weight of slates, but not for heavier roof tiles, we decided to use the Permapan panel from Joris Ide. This makes it look like there are real roof tiles on the roof after all. And the roof was insulated at the same time.”

Also for the most difficult roofs

Site supervisor Dirk Dewit: “The roof has a complicated structure. It is an L-shaped north-light roof that incorporates a dormer window, among other things. Because Permapan is made for straightforward roof structures, we had to wait and see how smoothly or difficult the installation would go. This project has proven that with Permapan you can cover any roof, no matter how difficult the structure. In the end, we renewed the roof quite quickly and easily.”

Resistant to wind and rain

“It wasn't the first time we used Permapan. Because you can order sheets up to 10 meters long and they are delivered customized to your roof, a Permapan roof is quickly installed or renewed. In addition, it is a sturdy roof tile sheet that easily withstands the harshest winds and heaviest rain.”

Deschacht main supplier

Saskia: “Thanks to Deschacht, communication with Joris Ide went without a hitch. The branch in Aartselaar sent the installation plan to Joris Ide and arranged everything down to the last detail. It is a perfect example of why Deschacht has become our main supplier. No one can match their flexibility, fast and correct deliveries, and communication. And if there ever is a problem with a material or delivery, they resolve it immediately.”

“This project has proven that with Permapan you can cover any roof, no matter how difficult the construction.” Dirk Dewit, foreman
