Mobi’Park TEC: the future logistics hub of the Liège network is taking shape

In Tilleur, near Liège, a large-scale construction site is in full swing: by June 2026, the former Chimeuse site will house the Mobi’Park TEC, the future hub of the TEC network in Liège. Spanning a 10-hectare site, this new depot—the second largest in Wallonia after Robermont—is being built to support the development of the BUSWAY lines. Ultimately, it will accommodate 500 employees, 36 “Tribus” buses, and around forty BHNS (Bus Rapid Transit) vehicles, both articulated and bi-articulated. More than just a simple depot, the Mobi’Park will also become an ultramodern training center featuring driving zones, technical workshops, training rooms, and infrastructure for vehicle maintenance and cleaning. A prestigious project that is setting mobility in Liège on a new path... or rather, on new tires.

Deschacht central to the site's sewerage solutions

To support the transition to a 100% electric fleet, Mobi’Park TEC requires particularly sophisticated infrastructure. Cable conduits, extensive technical networks, water management solutions—everything was meticulously planned to accommodate this new generation of articulated and double-articulated buses. The project, led by the architectural firm Greisch and the engineering firm Lemaire (structural engineering and special systems), was awarded to the temporary joint venture Galère and Duchêne. Deschacht took on two lots out of the twenty that make up the project.

the construction of the buildings, 250 meters long, with administrative sections, maintenance workshops (pits, bridges) and the sewage networks beneath the structures. Here, in close cooperation with the site team, Deschacht completely reworked the drainage plans to integrate solutions tailored to the specific constraints of the site.

the landscaping, a major share of the whole. This lot required a complete 3D BIM modeling, for which Deschacht made its digital library available. Thanks to this tool, the draftsman of the Galère-Duchêne team was able to develop the entire sewer network with optimal precision. To ensure technical conformity, Deschacht and sister company Collinet modeled the buffer basins and hydrocarbon separators in 3D to integrate them into the BIM model.

Optimized technical choices starting from the preparation phase

During the preliminary phase, Deschacht participated in two technical meetings to identify the best solutions. Proposals for materials and solutions were submitted, discussed, and approved prior to the order.

A strict approach to rainwater management

One of the biggest challenges of the project: the obligation to infiltrate all rainwater from the site – originating from roofs and floors. To achieve this, Deschacht supplied four infiltration basins with a total capacity of 3,000 m³, constructed using Columnbox and installed by partner Jean-François Stassen. The modular design of these basins (60 cm high – and spread out horizontally) makes it possible to cover a large surface area and bear heavy loads thanks to the specific road structure above them. The basins are equipped with valve chambers featuring overflow detectors to precisely control the discharge into the sewer system. An emergency overflow is provided, but the goal remains clear: to comply with AIDE standards and avoid overloading the public network.

Custom technical equipment

The site is so large that it is divided into multiple hydraulic zones. Deschacht supplied:

  • 6 double-walled HDPE hydrocarbon separators with bypass, with flow rates from 20 to 120 l/s, produced by Collinet.
  • 1 Tubao tank of 160 m³ for rainwater harvesting, intended for reuse on site.
  • 4 PE lifting stations for pumping wastewater from the cleaning pits, distributed across the indoor and outdoor areas of the buildings.
  • Composite floor drains and Recyfix channels for indoor areas.

A construction site that is progressing according to schedule

Despite the complexity of the project, the deliveries were made on time. Galère and Duchêne expressed their satisfaction with the responsiveness and quality of the technical solutions proposed by Deschacht.

“The deliveries arrive when we need them, not too early and not too late. That goes smoothly and really makes a difference on the ground,”

besides Laurent Adam, responsible for the operational follow-up of the site. The site is still ongoing and further deliveries have already been confirmed for the next phases.
