Collecting rainwater in a buffer basin

A complete system to harvest rainwater for 63 new plots in Theux

The center of the municipality of Theux will soon get a new look thanks to an ambitious project for the development of 63 building plots. Led by Piron Construction, this project plays an important role in the further development of the region. An essential component is the sustainable management of rainwater, a challenge that is becoming increasingly important during heavy rainfall.

Efficient rainwater harvesting to prevent flooding

Within this project, AB TECH, part of the Groupe Joly, is responsible for the construction of the sewerage network and the installation of a rainwater buffer. This infrastructure is crucial for efficiently collecting rainwater and discharging it in a controlled manner, thereby reducing the risk of flooding during extreme weather conditions.

Deschacht: expertise in custom solutions for rainwater management

In collaboration with SRL Maréchal and Baudinet, Deschacht supplied a completely custom-made system. This includes a 196 m³ rainwater buffer, designed by our internal engineering department to meet the site's water storage needs. The buffer ensures that rainwater can be temporarily collected and discharged in a controlled manner.

In addition, Deschacht supplied specially designed HDPE inspection chambers with flow regulators, manufactured by Collinet, to ensure optimal rainwater drainage. The entire sewerage network, also supplied by Deschacht, ensures seamless integration of all components of the water system.

Innovative rainwater management in Theux

This project is a great example of how Deschacht collaborates with specialized partners to provide sustainable solutions for rainwater harvesting and management. By delivering custom work and a well-considered approach, Deschacht plays a key role in projects that demand high standards both technically and ecologically.
