In Roeselare, the brand-new production facility of VDL Bus & Coach has opened, a state-of-the-art 27,000 m² factory equipped with a workshop, warehouse, and offices. This facility focuses on sustainability and innovation and produces fully electric buses for public transport. With this, VDL takes a major step toward ecologically responsible production and continues to work on reducing its ecological footprint. The design of this project was handled by Demo Architecten, with the choice of the right drainage channels playing a crucial role. For stormwater drainage and handling heavy traffic loads, Recyfix NC300 drainage channels from Hauraton were chosen. This plastic drainage channel, made of 100% recycled polypropylene, is perfectly aligned with VDL's sustainable vision and offers a load class of up to E600, meaning they can effortlessly support heavy vehicles. The Recyfix drainage channels are not only robust and suitable for the intensive loads of daily operations, but they are also fully recyclable at the end of their lifespan. These properties make the Recyfix NC drainage channels an ideal choice in a project where sustainability comes first. The installation of these drainage channels was carried out by Verhelst Aannemingen, commissioned by Alheembouw. The employees were enthusiastic about the ease of use and quick installation of the drainage channel, which ensured smooth progress and a high-quality result. The use of these innovative drainage channels has contributed to the realization of a future-proof and ecologically responsible infrastructure project. By choosing the Recyfix NC300 drainage channels, VDL Bus & Coach proves that functionality and sustainability can go hand in hand, and the company once again proves itself to be a pioneer in the field of green innovation within the industrial sector.
