In Erpe, East Flanders, the management of the Sint-Martinusschool recently called upon the expertise of roofer Frederic Migot for the roof renovation. In turn, Frederic approached Deschacht to order DOMINO roof tiles, BauderPIR insulation material, and Strongflex lead substitute. Top-quality materials, every single one of them, for a perfect end result!
In every school, students, teachers, and management deserve a expertly installed roof over their heads, so that they can organize classes in the most comfortable conditions. The management of the Sint-Martinusschool in Erpe also invested in a new roof. Roofer Frederic Migot, originally from Erpe-Mere himself, was contacted to complete this renovation project. “I was asked to install about 520 square meters. For the material, I relied on my trusted supplier Deschacht,” said Frederic.
Excellent value for money
“We supplied Frederic DOMINO roof tiles, BauderPIR insulation material, and Strongflex lead substitute,” confirms Matthias Van Acker, roofing expert at Deschacht. “Each of these products offers an excellent price-quality ratio and is also very user-friendly. We had sufficient stock of all materials, allowing us to deliver to Frederic quickly.”
Sturdy roof tiles with a modern look
With the DOMINO roof tiles, the building owner chose an exceptionally high-quality product with a modern and sleek look. “The DOMINO roof tiles are made from very pure clay, which makes this roof tile long-lasting and less prone to green moss. It is also the only ceramic roof tile on the Benelux market with a completely flat profile in both length and width, without cuts or curves,” Matthias explains. “Due to the no-nonsense and timeless look, reduced to the essential, this product appeals to many people. Although the DOMINO roof tile is not part of our premium range, it is simply a solid and reliable product.” Frederic confirms this: “After the completion of the work, I received a lot of positive reactions from the architect, school staff, and parents alike. To achieve the best possible result, I installed these roof tiles in a staggered pattern, alternating between full and half roof tiles. That approach creates more visual variety.”
Quickly installable lead substitute
A professionally installed roof naturally also requires a perfect finish. For this, Frederic used Strongflex lead substitute. “I really like using this EPDM material for finishing wall and chimney flashings. Because this material is self-adhesive, the installation goes very smoothly. Furthermore, there is no risk of damage during installation, because the aesthetic side is folded inward. However, I advise every colleague to always use the Strongflex Primer during installation, so that this lead substitute adheres well to the substrate.”
Quality insulation material
In these times of sustainable construction, the use of solid insulation material is also an absolute necessity. For the Saint Martin School, Frederic used BauderPIR SF, an advanced polyurethane rigid foam with an increased PIR index. “This insulation material has a very low thermal conductivity coefficient and meets current strict energy-saving standards even at a small thickness,” explains Matthias. “This top-quality German material can be used as a sarking board on wooden rafters and roofs. Because the board is provided with a durable and robust underlayment membrane, the roof is made waterproof very quickly.” “For this project, we used BauderPIR boards with a tongue-and-groove system measuring 180 by 120 centimeters and with a thickness of 13 centimeters,” says Frederic. “Moreover, this material was delivered quickly by Deschacht, which kept us right on schedule to complete this renovation project.”
