In Poperinge, transport company Wybo is building a gigantic storage facility up to 16 meters high for food and beverages. However, the original drainage design is not feasible. Due to the size of the concrete buffer structure, it would be necessary to dig too deep, creating the risk that surrounding buildings could become unstable. Deschacht's engineering department developed a new proposal featuring a ring sewer system only 2.5 meters deep. In this system, the rainwater is first temporarily stored in PPRibwall pipes with a diameter of one meter. It then flows in a controlled manner into the subdivision sewer system. The construction also incorporates four large Tubao fire-fighting tanks. Each of these tanks has space for no less than 60,000 liters of water—enough to be used as a buffer in the event of a fire.
