Superfleece Underlayment

Superfleece underlayment membrane for pitched roofs

Superfleece is a vapor-permeable and water-resistant underlayment membrane for pitched roofs that protects the roof structure against weather influences and building physics risks. In a modern roof construction, it works together with roof covering, insulation, and airtightness to stabilize the performance of the entire building envelope.

The foil is applied as a secondary waterproofing under roof tiles and prevents wind-driven rain, snow or dust from affecting the insulation layer or load-bearing structure.

Role of roofing underlayment in the roof structure

A pitched roof only performs optimally when all layers are properly coordinated with each other. The underlayment membrane fulfills a functional link between the external climate and the insulation package.

Key features:

As soon as moisture gets into the roof insulation, the thermal resistance decreases and the risk of structural damage such as wood degradation and mold growth increases. The quality of the under-roof membrane therefore directly determines the durability of the roof.

FAQ

1. Is Superfleece vapor-permeable?

Yes. Superfleece is a microporous, vapor-permeable membrane exhausts the water vapor from the roof structure to the outside. This reduces the risk of condensation against the underside of the roofing and in the insulation layer.

Yes. The membrane is water-resistant (W1 classification) and protects the roof structure from rain, even during wind-driven precipitation. This keeps the insulation dry and functional.

Yes. Thanks to the reinforced structure, Superfleece has high tear resistance and can withstand temporary loads during the installation phase. This makes installation on sloped roofs safer and more efficient.

A vapor-permeable membrane prevents moisture from becoming trapped in the roof structure. In combination with insulation and airtightness, this ensures:

  • Fewer condensation problems
  • Better energy performance of the roof
  • Longer lifespan of wooden roof structures
  • Lower risk of mold growth

Superfleece is applied horizontally to the roof structure, with overlaps according to the markings. The system must be installed continuously and connected correctly to roof details such as ridges, edges, and penetrations to ensure airtightness and waterproofing.
