For a detached private home with two adjoining building sections, the new owners decided on a major roof renovation. With a total roof area of approximately 200 m², no small job!
Challenge: roof pitch of 14° and light roof structure
The existing roof was covered with worn roofing shingles that were in urgent need of replacement. Due to the low roof pitch of just 14° and the lightweight roof structure, classic roof tiles were not an option. The owners were looking for an aesthetic and durable solution that better matched their wishes.
Solution: zinc-coated wire netting and Strongpanel
The choice fell on standing seam zinc, a durable and high-quality material that guarantees an excellent seal thanks to its perfect overlapping. The zinc elements, with lengths of up to 7 meters, were custom-folded entirely in the zinc centers of Deschacht Herent and Deschacht Geel. A technical masterpiece!
For the finishing touch, black Strongpanel panels were used, a proprietary product by Deschacht. These HDPL panels are known for their durability and versatility. They are not only easy to cut to size, but also available in a wide range of colors, making them ideal for roof, facade, and dormer applications.
Extra detail: Skylux skylight
To create extra light, a Skylux skylight was integrated into the roof, a practical and stylish addition to the overall picture.
