Clothing store Arvatex in Wevelgem is moving to a new and larger building. The owner has chosen a geothermal heat pump to heat and cool the entire building. Drilling company Geotechnix is carrying out the corresponding vertical drilling and is installing a total of 3 km of ground heat probes and PE pipes in the ground to connect the probes to the collector well and the heat pump. Because the building is 800 m² and also includes a residence above the shop, the heat pump needs a capacity of 40 kW. To achieve that capacity, 16 holes, each 71 meters deep, are being drilled. Single loops are also being used instead of double ones. The required drilling footage increases by 10%, but you also pay 10% less for installing the pipes.
