With an increasing number of students, the Atheneum of Fleurus needed more classrooms. Thus began a construction project for a new extension, starring: Krinkels, Bemat, and Deschacht.
First the site was empty: just a piece of wasteland on the edge of the school. Bemat, the contractor for the project, asked Krinkels to landscape the green spaces and the square in front of the future new building. The requirements for this project? The installation of a 50 m³ tank
for the fire department and a second 10 m tank
for the sanitary facilities.
Tubao as a star product
“We wanted to install large tanks and we saw the Tubao tanks at Deschacht,” says Brieuc Quirynen, site manager at Krinkels. “I knew some of my former colleagues had already worked with that product, and I contacted them to ask for their opinion. Because they were very positive, I spoke with Dimitri Steilen, project manager at Deschacht, and we ordered a Tubao.” The Tubao, an innovative solution that Deschacht has been selling for 5 to 10 years, is gradually becoming one of the company's flagship products thanks to its many possibilities. This was the first one that Krinkels installed, but it certainly won't be the last.
A fruitful collaboration
After the order was placed, the tank was immediately put into production and Deschacht contacted Krinkels again to discuss delivery times. “We usually work with Deschacht for our deliveries because their sales staff are true professionals,” Brieuc continues. “Our buyer has an excellent relationship with their people. At the end of 2023, a new branch will open its doors in Farciennes, near Charleroi, an area where we have many construction sites. That suits us well.” Meanwhile, Krinkels handled the excavation at the location where the tank was to be installed and connected. Here too, Deschacht provided advice. “We received an explanatory brochure and were guided step-by-step through the installation of the tank. It was quite a stressful project, as the product was new to us. But the guidance from Deschacht was a great reassurance.”
Proven solutions
Deschacht's major asset is its ability to provide solutions for all problems. “We needed a custom-made Tubao tank, so that wasn't an off-the-shelf product. Yet the deadline didn't change and we got a quick response. Deschacht literally kept its promises: we received our tank right on time.”
A product that makes life easier
The Tubao is much easier to install than a concrete tank and, above all, lighter, which is convincing more and more professionals. “The tank we installed was long, but that was the only complex part of the installation. It weighs little and is easy to handle. It was enough to attach four ropes to the ends to guide the tank to the excavation and lower it in. A concrete tank would have required more resources and, above all, more time.” The icing on the cake was, of course, the fact that the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, the end client, was extremely satisfied with the project.
