Decathlon – TUBAO reservoir | Ostend

Client: Decathlon, Ostend

Contractor: Bosschaert, Kortrijk

The new Decathlon store will occupy an area of 4,500 m² on the site of the former Oostende Halls. For the rainwater harvesting works, the Bosschaert company installed a 90-meter-long reservoir from TUBAO. Our engineering department performed the calculations, taking into account factors such as soil pressure and the buoyant force of the groundwater. We proposed installing 90 meters of TUBAO pipes with a diameter of 3,000 mm to act as a buffer for the expected 631 m³ of rainwater. This solution perfectly meets the technical requirements and saved our client a month of work! In just one day, the Bosschaert company installed the entire reservoir and connected it to the new pipeline for water from the Middenkustpolder canal. Thanks to TUBAO, the construction site did not remain open for long, and there was no need to install a dewatering system to pump out and discharge the groundwater. Fast delivery, an efficient solution, and an attractive price were just some of the benefits this project enjoyed.
