The roofing brand SUPER delivers on its promise for this new storage facility in Herstal

A new storage hall in Herstal recently received a roof made of SUPER, a bituminous membrane that is more affordable than the premium brands but does not compromise on quality. Contractor Lutex was responsible for all work on this 1500 m² building.

Price, finish, quality: the 3 benefits of the SUPER range of roofing products

SUPER is a brand by Deschacht, which enables a competitive price without compromising on quality. “With the SUPER products, Deschacht has developed a high-quality bituminous membrane system. Moreover, part of the range is ATG-certified,” says Axelle Duysens, account manager at Deschacht. The product used for the roof of the hall has also received this certification: SUPERFLEX (SBS) with a black slate finish. It is one of the most widely used membranes in the Liège region. For Fredy Piron, the director of Lutex, there is no fault to be found with the quality of this top layer: “The product is perfect, the rolls unroll well. We haven't had a single issue with this membrane.”

Available quickly despite the material shortage

The scarcity and high prices of materials are generating a lot of discussion, but have not yet affected the availability of SUPER products. “A product of the Deschacht brand reassures customers, crisis or no crisis. Because we work with our own brand, we have a better view of price and stock fluctuations,” explains Axelle Duysens. Controlling the supply ensures a fixed price and the availability of quality products. That is a valuable advantage for customers, who can anticipate the costs of their projects. Fredy Piron confirms this: “Ordering in advance gives us certainty. We appreciate Deschacht's responsiveness and the certainty it offers when requesting prices.” Deschacht has done everything possible to maintain its rates. “We had the products in stock five months before the start of the work. In these times of crisis, that proves Deschacht's commitment to its loyal customers,” says Axelle Duysens.

An anecdote from the construction site: soles of SUPER membrane

The roof was installed during the heatwave of the summer of 2022, which required some adjustments. During such peak temperatures, the surface temperature of the top layer can reach up to 70°C. Fredy Piron explains: “Because of the high temperatures, we needed special soles to avoid damaging the top layer.” What did they do? They used the bituminous membrane upside down. Thanks to that clever idea, they did not leave footprints on the top layer and were able to work despite the high temperature.
