The agricultural machinery of the JOSKIN group, which has its historical and economic heart in Soumagne, 20 km from Liège, is sold in more than 60 countries across 5 continents. The company's specialty is the production of trailers for the transport and spreading of agricultural products, in which it is a world leader. The group has factories in Belgium, France and Poland, and soon... a brand new 15,000 m² unit on a 6 ha site in Sanem, Esch-sur-Alzette in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. With its geographical location and large surface area, this brownfield site offers a strategic opportunity.
Gerday is installing the drainage network for Ramaekers
The Hour-based company Gerday was commissioned by general contractor Ramaekers to install the external drainage network in the first phase. In total, Gerday installed 850 meters of Ecobox 500 SN8 ribbed pipe, along with 17 round concrete inspection chambers with a diameter of 1,000 mm. The work was considerably facilitated by Martin Destombes from Poliéco, who ensured that full truckloads were delivered to the construction site strictly on time.
Double-wall ribbed HDPE pipe: fast, safe, and easy to install
Lightweight, strong double-walled ribbed HDPE pipes proved to be the best choice for this project. With a length of 6 meters, they can be laid quickly and safely, requiring fewer joints and therefore carrying a lower risk of leaks. Thanks to their light weight, they are easy to handle and allow for the use of lighter machinery. Moreover, they can be cut faster than concrete pipes.
Ecological partnership: Deschacht and POLIECO for long-term sustainability
Deschacht is constantly aware of the ecological impact of producing synthetic solutions and therefore collaborates with POLIECO, the pioneer in this market. For nearly 20 years, POLIECO has been making pipes from 100% recycled and 100% recyclable SN8 grade polyethylene. The ECOPAL double-walled HDPE pipe system is used to transport rainwater and urban wastewater without pressure, and also to transport air (air treatment technology). The ECOPAL range is technically mature and complies with European standards, with a guarantee that the sewerage systems will last for more than 50 years.

The weather as a spoilsport, expertise as an asset
As a result of the bad weather in late 2023 and the first quarter of 2024, the delivery schedule had to be revised to meet the project requirements. With this project, which will take several months to complete, Deschacht once again proves its expertise in rainwater management.
