In the course of spring, Ghent will be home to a new business hotel. The craftsmen of Janssen the Building Company and their subcontractors are working tirelessly to transform the building near the Ghelamco Arena into a hotel with 266 rooms, restaurants, a skybar, fitness & wellness, and spacious facilities for conferences by early April. VMA Druart from Aalst is responsible for the installation of cooling and heating. Deschacht is supplying the piping.
Deschacht Ducting also focuses on HVAC

Utility pipelines, including for building HVAC, are one of our strategic areas of focus. Our Utility Pipelines business unit is dedicated to this. Recently, we added two new product lines to our range: NIRON PPR pipes and Multinupi multilayer pipes, both from the Italian manufacturer Nupi Industrie Italiane. Both types of pipes are being used at the Van der Valk construction site. This is a large-scale project, and the order placed with us by VMA Druart was correspondingly large. This further confirms their trust in our offering.”
Supply and branches to chilled ceilings
“Main contractor Janssen chose chilled ceilings as the climate control solution for the new hotel,” says Steven Schellaert, MEP project manager at VMA Druart. ”For the supply of cooling and heating water, we are using NIRON CLIMA pipes, and for the branch lines we chose the Multinupi system of multilayer press pipes. They are connected to the NIRON pipe using branch saddle welds. The adapters are drilled into the supply pipe and fused in place via polyfusion. The advantage is that all the material that Deschacht supplies to us for this comes from the same manufacturer, which also means we benefit from a system warranty. We started in September of last year and hope to be finished by early April. To get such a large-scale project finished in this timeframe, you absolutely must be able to rely on high-quality material and smooth delivery."
