20 rolls of Supergum+ for flat roof Mechelen

First introduction to SUPER range immediate success

In a neighborhood in Mechelen, S.C.B. Dakwerken from Putte renovated the flat roof of a house. “The new owners of this house asked us to replace the existing roof, which was in need of quite a bit of renovation, with a better-finished and more durable option,” says co-managing director Sam Cumps. Together with his brothers Bert and Stijn, he relied on the SUPER range from Deschacht. The first introduction to this roofing system was an immediate success!

The Cumps brothers have been working as roofers since 2016. “We offer our customers a wide range of services, ranging from roofing for new construction and renovation to cladding and lead and zinc work,” confirms Sam Cumps. “For the installation of flat roofs, we have relied on Bauder roofing products up until now. When Frank Kino – the roof & facade account manager at Deschacht Herent – offered us a few rolls of the Deschacht SUPER range to try out, it turned out that both products are well-matched in terms of quality. However, the SUPER products are slightly more favorable in price. That is why we were persuaded to use Supergum+ for the house in Mechelen.”

Versatile SUPER range

Our SUPER range for flat roofs consists of various products, including SuperAir SA, SuperUno V3 and Supergum+, says Frank Kino. ”The underlayer

is a bituminous, self-adhesive, and vapor-pressure-equalizing membrane based on SBS elastomeric bitumen. This ATG-certified product has a top side finished with a protective foil and a self-adhesive bottom side. The

vapor barrier forms the ideal addition to this underlay. This vapor barrier is a V3 roofing membrane produced on the basis of APP-modified bitumen with a glass fleece reinforcement. It is suitable for fully torch-applied or loose-laid ballasted installation, where the top side is finished with a sand/talcum mixture. And with the

Clean result, long lifespan

For the roofing work in Mechelen, S.C.B. Dakwerken exclusively used the Supergum+ top layer. “We ordered about twenty rolls from Deschacht. What immediately struck us during the work with this new roofing product was how easy this top layer is to work with and install. Torching this bitumen layer went very cleanly, and the end result was a neatly finished roofing. This is also partly thanks to the professional on-site support we received from Deschacht with the presence of an experienced fellow roofer. The homeowners were very satisfied with the end result, and moreover, they have the guarantee that the new flat roof has a long lifespan.”

Not only about the SUPER range are Sam and his brothers very enthusiastic. The collaboration with Deschacht is also going excellently. “Frank has been our regular contact person at Deschacht for several years,” says Sam. “Our collaboration goes—literally and figuratively—like clockwork.
