At the Centre Arthur Regnier in Lobbes, a medical-educational institute (IMP) of the Province of Hainaut, a 100 m³ fire water reserve was installed to meet the requirements of emergency services. For this project, Michaux Construct opted for a 110 m³ Tubao steel tank, supplied by Deschacht.
A simple and quick solution that meets the fire department's requirements
Following a visit from the fire department, the building owner was required to provide a water supply specifically designated for emergency response. The tank was installed behind the parking spaces and is equipped with a suction hose featuring a universal connection, so that the fire department can quickly connect to it in the event of a fire.
The tank was installed in less than two hours. After installation, the trench was backfilled with the excavated soil, and the surrounding area was fully restored to its original condition.
“The speed at which the installation is being carried out is impressive. To achieve a capacity of 100 m³ using concrete tanks, multiple reservoirs would have been needed, involving more excavation work, transportation, and logistical constraints,” emphasizes Dominique Libon, site manager at Michaux Construct.
Tubao: A Sustainable Solution for Large Storage Capacities
The Tubao solution, which comes with a warranty of up to 70 years, makes it possible to quickly establish large-capacity firewater reserves. At the same time, it minimizes the number of transport trips, the amount of earthwork, and the construction site’s environmental footprint. A reliable and sustainable solution that meets the safety requirements for public and private infrastructure.
