Discreet and sophisticated storm basin for new orthodontics clinic

In Ensival (Verviers), a stone's throw from the Vesdre, a new orthodontics clinic – Orthosmile – and 13 apartments are rising on a former 2,500 m² paintball site. For the dimensioning and construction of the storm basin and drainage system, general contractor Maitryse relied on the expertise and services of Deschacht.

Like many other municipalities, Verviers applies very strict criteria for rainwater management and prohibits discharging rainwater into the public sewer system. In addition, the specific requirements of the client and the limited surface area of the construction site had to be taken into account. “For this project, we had to install an infiltration pipe and a storm basin,” says Michaël Abraham, managing director of construction company Maitryse. “The infiltration pipe had to offer a fairly substantial transport capacity. The available space for the construction of the storm basin was tight, and the client wanted as few inspection chambers as possible in their parking lot.”
