Sewerage and infiltration for cold and freezing storage of fruit juice producer
The Brazilian fruit juice giant Citrosuco is building a new refrigerated and frozen warehouse at its sole European production facility in Ghent 6,000 m². Construction company Bolckmans is managing the project smoothly. Deschacht drew up the sewerage study and supplied the pipes, infiltration crates, covers and pump shaft.
Comprehensive sewerage study
Project manager Herman Claeys of Bolckmans: “The architect had already drawn up a preliminary design for the sewerage. Based on this, Deschacht carried out a sewerage study. In it, they optimized the layout of the pipes and provided, among other things, oversized pipes, inspection chambers, infiltration pipes, and crates. They drew up the execution plan with which we could start the installation.”
Everything custom-made
Thanks to 96 m³ of ø600 Ribwall pipes in combination with an infiltration basin, a total of 246 m³ of rainwater is infiltrated.” That volume, together with the infiltration surface area, is large enough to meet the conditions of the rainwater ordinance. A pump sump custom-made for the connection points and the surface area of the rainwater arriving in it pumps the water at the loading and unloading dock up into the sewage system.”
“Citrosuco is located at the Sifferdok in the port of Ghent. Reachstackers drive around there to load, unload, and stack loaded containers. That is why we also installed covers that can handle a weight of more than 90 tons.”
