In addition to the sturdiness and functionality of the Variobox, this product also allows for vertical placement. At this CHwapi site, we were able to overcome site constraints with it, thereby creating a vertical rainwater tank.
The new CHwapi rainwater tank is 4.80 meters deep and consists of 7 Variobox layers. This type of vertical configuration is quite rare, as tanks are usually built in 1 or 2 layers. It was mandated by the site conditions and the limited available surface area. These collection tanks can be assembled horizontally or vertically (up to DN 500), even on very large basins.
The Variobox, more and more used
The use of unrolled caissons for building storage tanks or rainwater pits is becoming increasingly common. They withstand extreme loads, offer connection options on all sides, and have a storage capacity of 95 %. The contractor, Galère, specified this solution right from the start in the specifications provided to TRBA. The company responsible for the sewerage and surroundings then worked with Deschacht to build the underground tank.
Installation in a PVC membrane
The 7 Variobox layers were placed by TRBA in a PVC membrane, which was installed by Deschacht. This type of extra service makes Deschacht the preferred supplier of infiltration crates. For TRBA, this was a first collaboration, but its representative Benjamin Demeyer confirms: “The quality of the relationship and the service is one of Deschacht's strengths. We will probably work with them more often in the future.”
