The Eiffage Group (JV Vuylsteke \u2013 Antwerpse Bouwwerken) is building the new VTI campus there. It goes without saying that this includes a sewer system that meets legal, architectural, and budgetary requirements. We spoke with subcontractor Maeyaert, who carried out the sewerage works, and Dirk Stuyven of Deschacht, which supplied the materials for it.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.deschacht.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/BruggeVTI-005.jpg\" alt=\"BruggeVTI 005\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.67%\">\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Collaboration between study service and sewer contractor<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><p class=\"HoofdtekstA\">Dirk Stuyven, Head of Study Department &amp; Engineering at Deschacht: \u201cWe secured the project for both the internal and external sewerage of the new technical school campus after intensive consultations between our study department, the contractors, the school board, and the engineering firm. Scholen Van Morgen (the public-private partnership between the Flemish government and private companies) also had a say in the matter. In cooperation with our customer, Maeyaert from Roeselare, we technically and budgetarily optimized the sewerage concept and proposed the appropriate facilities for wastewater drainage as well as rainwater buffering and infiltration. All of this was developed into a complete drainage plan in compliance with all legal standards and regulations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.67%\">\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Complete implementation plan for sewerage<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis is a substantial project,\u201d says Pieter-Jan Maeyaert, CEO of Maeyaert Aannemingen. \u201cVTI is a technical school, so in addition to the necessary piping for sanitary and shower drainage, we also had to provide facilities for wastewater disposal from certain departments such as the automotive, welding, and machining workshops. In consultation with Deschacht's engineering department, we developed a complete plan for the interior and exterior sewerage. This was then discussed and refined during site meetings with the main contractor, architect, and the client's engineering bureau. That took several months.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.deschacht.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Engineering_CaseStudy_BruggeVTI_Banner.jpg\" alt=\"Engineering Case Study Brugge VTI Banner\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.deschacht.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/BruggeVTI-122.jpg\" alt=\"BruggeVTI 122\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.67%\">\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mega Ribwall infiltration pipes and inspection chambers<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PVC pipe was used for the internal sewerage, while 545m of Ribwall IT infiltration pipe \u00f81000 was used for the drainage and buffering of rainwater. The matching HDPE inspection chamber has a diameter of a staggering 1.6 meters! The DWA MDPE chambers, in turn, were right up the alley of Collinet's specialists. \u201cThose inspection chambers are custom-made at Collinet and equipped with all accessories,\u201d says Pieter-Jan Maeyaert, \u201cthat certainly saves a lot of time on the job site.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n   <li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Year of establishment: 2006<\/span><\/li>\n   <li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Location: Roeselare \u2013 Oekene<\/span><\/li>\n   <li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Number of employees: 12 manual workers and 4 office workers<\/span><\/li>\n   <li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Activity: Demolition, earthmoving and concrete works \/ Contracting and environmental works<\/span><\/li>\n <\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Maeyaert Aannemingen from Oekene, founded by Pieter-Jan Maeyaert, has been an established name in the West Flanders region since 2006, and is primarily active in demolition and earthworks, landscaping and sewerage, formwork and concrete works. The necessary certificates and trained personnel within the company ensure that these works are carried out in compliance with regulations. We strive for quality and the necessary follow-up of every project, for both private clients and
