The company La Vache Bleue faced a compliance issue at its production site in Braine-l\u2019Alleud: the existing micro-wastewater treatment plant, which treated both fecal and industrial wastewater, no longer met the requirements of the sewage authority (INBW). The project therefore consisted of bypassing this installation while guaranteeing a safe and regulatory discharge of the industrial wastewater into the municipal network. La Vache Bleue is active in the processing, pre-packaging, and distribution of dairy products, and the project fits within the continuity of its industrial activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To address this issue, Deschacht and Collinet designed a custom-made double-walled polyethylene storage tank, sized according to the volume to be pumped and the site constraints. The tank is equipped with a dual-pump system, which pumps the industrial wastewater over a distance of nearly 200 meters to the municipal network.\nThis solution is intended to collect and store process and cleaning water, located more than 15 meters below road level, and then inject it into the network in accordance with applicable regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project, which was originally planned several years ago, was restarted with larger volumes to be pumped. This required a resizing of the tank and pumps, as well as an enlargement of the inlet to maintain the required net volume. The tank is delivered in one piece and is equipped with a new leak detection system, consisting of a pressure test in the workshop to guarantee watertightness upon delivery. This allows the client and the contractor to check the tightness of the tank via a pressure gauge during installation and throughout the operational period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The success of the project relies on the collaboration between Deschacht, Collinet, the engineering firm Detang, The Flow Group, and the company Raboz, an earthmoving company based in Villers-le-Bouillet. Every technical detail was validated: pump capacity, hatch dimensions, external alarm system connected via SIM card for remote monitoring.\nThis approach guarantees the client a turnkey solution that is safe and compliant, simplifies the management of industrial wastewater, and makes it possible to bypass the non-compliant micro-installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
