It is essential to collect and buffer rainwater, and to allow it to efficiently infiltrate into the subsoil. Deschacht, a specialist in water management, offers the perfect solution for this. In collaboration with Grondwerken Van Lommel, we carried out a groundbreaking project for Keukens Van Lommel, installing no less than 480 meters of Pluvio infiltration tunnels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Challenges in the project<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The construction project experienced some challenging conditions. The high groundwater level complicated the installation of traditional infiltration systems, which typically require a minimum cover of 80 cm for truck traffic (SLW60). In this project, only a maximum cover of 45 cm was possible above the infiltration system. Thanks to the unique properties of the Pluvio tunnels, these requirements could be met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The solution: Pluvio infiltration tunnels<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deschacht supplied 222 Pluvio tunnels, accounting for a storage volume of 458 m\u00b3 and an infiltration surface area of 940 m\u00b2. These tunnels were installed as a perimeter ring around the building; they store peak rainfall and allow it to infiltrate into the ground at a controlled rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Benefits of the Pluvio Infiltration Tunnels<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>High storage capacity per m\u00b2: the tunnels offer a large buffer volume and infiltration surface, allowing large amounts of rainwater to be captured efficiently.<\/li>\n<li>Infiltration and retention: the tunnels can be used for both infiltrating and buffering rainwater.<\/li>\n<li>Fast and efficient installation: thanks to the lightweight and compact design, the tunnels are easy to install and can be linked together endlessly.<\/li>\n<li>Cost-efficient: the arch-shaped tunnels, made of ABS plastic, are affordable and of high quality.<\/li>\n<li>Heavy load resistant: they withstand heavy traffic with minimal coverage.<\/li>\n<li>Accessible for inspection: the tunnels are easy to maintain and accessible for inspection.<\/li>\n<li>100% recycled material: The tunnels are made of durable and environmentally friendly material.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pluvio-infiltration tunnels offer an efficient and sustainable solution for collecting and buffering rainwater, even in challenging conditions such as a high groundwater table and heavy traffic.
