The company is investing in the construction of a new plant for the storage of oil derivatives on the Noorderlaan in Antwerp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through the earthworks specialist Willemsen Grondwerken and C&amp;C architecten, the file regarding buffering and infiltration options ended up on the desk of Dieter Smolders at Deschacht. Following the site visit, the basic plan was optimized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The challenge consisted, among other things, of placing the infiltration solution beneath the floor slab in view of the available construction area and the high groundwater table. In addition, the floor slab must be completely watertight to prevent the penetration of derivatives into the subsoil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The construction is built on pile foundations. This allows us to infiltrate beneath the floor slab without compromising stability. Between the piles, 3 strands of DN600 Ribwall infiltration pipes will be installed. Due to their significant resistance to point loads, these can be installed with minimal cover. The horizontal infiltration pipes are connected to HDPE manholes with a waterproof flange in the floor slab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The HDPE manholes are equipped with HDPE welded transitions of DN600 for direct connection with the Ribwall pipes. Especially the exceptional size of the manhole and the transitions catch the eye here. The manhole is custom-produced at sister company Collinet. Deschacht optimized the plan and handled the sizing of the manholes and infiltration pipes in accordance with the applicable rainwater regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deschacht doesn't just provide non-stop construction advice, it is also a one-stop construction shop. For instance, on this project we also supplied all other rainwater pipes, fittings, waterproof penetrations, and Recyfix NC100 Hauraton channels. This channel stands out due to its E600 strength class and excellent chemical resistance.
