It is crucial that these substances are handled, stored, and transported in a responsible manner to minimize risks to humans and the environment. This includes the use of appropriate containers, safety equipment, and adherence to strict regulations and procedures for handling hazardous materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The standard procedure includes the drainage of water from the unloading bay to the sewer system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Collinet was asked to<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Engineering solution<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">to be elaborated for shutting off the sewage system and collecting the acids and\/or bases in a storage tank in the event of emergencies during transfer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">included the description of an emergency tank and valve chamber with dimensions of the planned valves and the depth at which they must be located.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Collinet engineering department designed a double-walled HDPE distribution chamber with integrated shut-off valves. The design also took into account the accessibility of the chamber through the installation of a ladder, as well as the required clear height and surface area of the room to guarantee ergonomic inspection and\/or work. The access shaft of the chamber is covered with a liquid-tight lid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The emergency tank, intended for the collection and storage of chemical components that may be released in the loading area during the transfer of chemical products, was implemented as a double-walled HDPE underground containment tank with a capacity of 5,000 liters.
